The dispersal sale of Beef Cows for Rocklea Farms took place at Knockaloe on 23rd October 2019 having sold their suckled calves the previous week. A good range of 26 Cows PD incalf, sold from £380 – £865.
Ray Green has been the longest consecutive seller at Central Marts, for over 50 years, firstly with the Wattersons, Mr G Molyneux and in his own right trading as Rocklea Farms for the last 30 years. Some of his oldest buyers over the years have included some of the best beef producers on the Island and include Wattersons Scarlett, Jack Faragher Ballahick, Joe Reid Ballasalla,JT Collister, A Corrin , Joe Taggart Glashen, M Gawne Silverburn, Huyton Brothers, Inskip, Jack Kelly, Edward Kerruish, R Radcliffe Ballachrink, W Cannell, Arthur Radcliffe, B Critchton,Peter Quaye, Johny Quaye,Butch Quaye,Kenyon Crowe, Collister Bros, Manstock, N Cringle, Kneen’s, Cleators, T Sayle, P Speedie, Chadwicks, M Downy, G Watterson, G Moore and many more. Some of these farmers or their family are still farming, sadly some of them are just memories.
